I usually wait for the Human to get up in the morning...crouching outside his bedroom door. As soon as he opens said door, I begin to talk with him. I usually follow him into the little room with all the water swishing...and continue to talk to him. Sometimes, early in the morning, all he can do is grumble. Many times, he talks back to me, which is validating to me as a feline! I even try to get in the shower with him, but then he turns on the water and I have to get out.
I follow him down the stairs to the kitchen...still singing. When he sits down for breakfast or to watch the loud box with pictures, I sit in his lap and sing to him. Sometimes I allow my sister to sit in the Human's lap with me...and we both sing to him.
And when the Human is feeling cheeky, he will often play a video on his phone of other cats singing. Of course, I answer them! When I want to be fed, I sing. When the Human gets home from work, I sing.
So talk with your Human, you other cats out there. It helps them to not feel lonely and reminds them that you are there.
