I have DSL broadband service. For the past three days there has been static on my phone line and the internet kept disconnecting. I called Verizon and they are sending out a tech tomorrow.
First, however, they tried to blame it on my equipment and connected me to their sales department so I could buy more equipment. A test of my phone line supposedly showed it was in perfect order.
'Can you hear the static? That's not perfect order.' They spoke in ominous tones about how much it would cost me if the problem was in my house wiring.
In the meantime, there is no more static and now no dial-tone. . . .but at the moment, the internet is working flawlessly.
